Had a chance to play Skip Peterson’s home grown 28mm skirmish game on the Plains Indian Wars. As you can see from the photos, he has exquisite terrain and miniatures. We played on Saturday afternoon at Skip’s home.

The scenario was patrolling cavalry amidst two ranches. The Indians ambushed one column before the troopers could link up, while delaying the other column. I commanded the column that was being delayed. We didn’t come on the board until turn 5, and by that time the Indians had concentrated against the other column and left some braves to harass the ranchstead closest to me. Faced with the choice of dividing my force in a forlorn hope to rescue the other column, I elected to chase away the Indians to my front. The final photo shows one of my cavalry sections dismounted in firing line. All in all, it was an excellent game and everyone had a great time. I am looking forward to the next game.
