As many of you know, I have been helping Shawn Carpenter at Ambush Alley Games with a number of projects. Shawn was kind enough to give me permission to display the cover of Tomorrow’s War, the new AAG supplement for Force on Force dealing with science fiction. Here it is….

The cover really depicts what Shawn and all of us are trying to achieve…a realistic extrapolation of today’s modern warfare onto future battlefields. The rules cover everything from infantry combat to aliens, orbital bombardment to ECM, walkers to grav vehicles. The playtests we have conducted have been fun, fun, fun! The core mechanics of the game will be familiar to anyone who has played Ambush Alley or Force on Force. Shawn and all of us on his extended team have also provided a back story for the next 300 years of human exploration and colonization for those of you wanting some original “meat” for your miniature scenarios. But the back story is just that…the rules are flexible enough to let you run whatever you like. We’ve used them for a near future Martian mining colony rebellion…bug hunts…Starship Troopers…Hammer’s Slammer’s…and they work well. I’m very excited to be a part of this and even more excited that many of you will soon be experiencing Tomorrow’s War, too.

Is this game going to wrench me away from Star Grunt?

Different games, Steve. I have my copy of Stargrunt here at my desk. But I will point out that the introduction to Tomorrow’s War includes a foreword by Jon Tuffley of GZG. He likes Tomorrow’s War a lot…you may notice that the cover features artwork based on Jon’s miniatures.

The cover art is different on the Amazon listing. Still well done and just as cool.
